ThermoGrid Renewables is currently developing its proof-of-concept project seeking partnership with Australian research and mining organisations. The project aims to demonstrate a cost effective approach that redesigns closed-loop geothermal and hybrid renewable integration by using existing mining infrastructure.
ThermoGrid Renewables pioneers a closed-loop geothermal and hybrid renewable system that reuses existing underground and surface mining infrastructure. This approach enables power generation and grid connection with minimal new surface disturbance, giving active mines a way to integrate renewable energy into their sites and avoiding the widespread land clearing often required by large solar and wind installations.
By working below the surface and within existing mining corridors, ThermoGrid’s technology helps preserve Australia’s rural and agricultural landscapes. It delivers stable, round-the-clock clean power without expanding the industrial footprint above ground.
This retrofit model reduces environmental impact, accelerates project approvals, and allows renewable energy to coexist with agriculture, heritage sites, and rural communities — all while supporting Australia’s transition to a low-carbon grid.
